IS IT SAFE FOR FAMILY TRAVEL TO VIETNAM?

IS IT SAFE FOR FAMILY TRAVEL TO VIETNAM?

Is it safe to travel to Vietnam or any country you want to take family there for holiday is the first question that pops up when you plan your holiday for your family to Vietnam? Well, in general Vietnam is a safe country for family to travel to. Vietnam is listed as most 20 safe travel destinations in the world therefore there is no need to worry much when travelling to Vietnam with family and small children. Somehow, like all other countries in this world, you and your family need to take care and notice some certain things while your family is traveling to Vietnam to ensure that your family will have a great holiday in Vietnam. Below is something that you need to concern.
1.Dont stay out after 11 at night
First, there is nothing call Night Life in Vietnam even in big cities like Saigon, Hanoi, Da nang. Most of shops, restaurants will be closed and there is a policy that force those to close after 11 at night. There are a few bars may open late but of course you will not take your kids there so there is nothing to worry.
2. Don’t follow strangers for Karaoke or massage or drinks
There are some cases that happened when tourists follow some strangers to Karaoke bars or massage or drink and get their money stolen. They may come up to your family and say: hey, I am learning English and with to practice speaking and ask you to follow them for some fun. Talk to those? May be OK but follow them, absolutely NO.
3. Crossing the road
The traffic in big cities in Vietnam is crazy. Your family will see millions of motorbikes on the streets while travel to Vietnam. How to cross the road? Of course, wait for the traffic light but watch out for motorbikes as some never stop. Keep this in mind: walk slowly, keep moving forward and NEVER RUN OR WALK BACK as Vietnamese riders tend to move at your back. Another way, follow local people.
4. Food and drinks
Don’t try local food on the first day as your body may not use to the new environment, weather, spices…so try to eat at clean and safe restaurants for the first one or two days. Of course there are many restaurants serve great local food but clean. Consider taking ice with drinks. If possible, don’t take ice as most of drinks stored in fridges.
5. Know prices clearly when shopping
Make sure you and the sellers understand the price when you go shopping. Sometimes, they put 2, 3 or 5 fingers up, you think that is 2, 3 or 5 thousand Dong but in the end they get you in USD some beware of that. Same thing when you take taxi, motorbike or even hotel rooms. Price count per taxi, per motorbike, per room per night not per person.
6. Take care of your luggage
Don’t let others carry your bags in airport, bus stations or train stations. They will charge you money. If someone comes and offer to help, just simply say NO. When your family walks around, put your bag in front of you and make sure you can see it.
It is confirm that Vietnam is safe for family to travel to so no need to worry much. Just enjoy your holiday with your family in Vietnam.
